Lavender in South Louisiana

Yesterday morning I began harvesting some of our English lavender buds. We have some difficulty growing lavender successfully here in the Deep South. Lavender is such a beautiful and wonderful herb, so it is a great pleasure to have some success with it here in our gardens.

It was very relaxing and peaceful while I cut the flower stems in the early morning, right after the dew dried. I bundled them with rubber bands and hung them to dry in my herb room. It was a lovely sight, so I took a photo to share with you.
